Wielding the Chakra: Astrological Yoga Practice

Long ago, it is said that Krishna threw his Chakra (a spiralling disc of great energy) at a terrifying demon as it lunged towards the sacred nectar of immortality, seeking to possess it for itself. The result of this interaction established some very important boundaries about our connection with the cosmos and the subsequent understanding of our own individual energetic centres. This particular theme focuses on the Lunar Nodes of fate and destiny and implores us to acknowledge our hidden motivations.

Wielding the Chakra is an offering rooted in yogic technique (asana, pranayama, dhyana) and story-telling. Practitioners will form a circle around the dome and be guided to recognize and deploy their own energetic power to stabilize the distance between the future and the past. Philosophy and story will be woven in to the structure of the practice and live music will be played during an extended savasana before a group meditation commences to engage in the height of the wisdom of the practice.

No prior knowledge of philosophy or astrology is necessary but any time spent in relationship to these things will enrich the experience! 

What to bring:

• yoga mat, blanket, any props you would like to support your practice
• wear comfortable clothes you can move in (layers are highly recommended)
• water bottle
